Winter at Wingz Bird and Animal Sanctuary is a bustling time filled with exciting developments and extra care for our beloved animals. While we work hard to dodge the unpredictable winter weather, there’s always something happening!
Our horse box conversion for glamping is well underway, and we’re excited to announce that it will be ready to book by the end of May—perfect for a cozy and unique stay with nature. We’ve also added a new lock on the dog paddock gates, ensuring our furry friends can enjoy their space securely, and we’ve topped up our stock of delicious dog treats, so your fur babies will be spoiled when they visit.
The wallabies, though, seem unfazed by the cold! They love to stay out in all weathers, though they do have a dry, sheltered space to retreat to if needed. Meanwhile, our tortoises have moved into their winter quarters, hibernating until the warmer months return.
As part of our ongoing improvements, our raccoon dogs will be making the move to a new, larger enclosure over winter, giving them more space to roam and explore.
It’s a busy time at the sanctuary, but we’re dedicated to ensuring all our wonderful inhabitants, big and small, are happy and well cared for, no matter the weather.
